Friday, December 1
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm
This case study involved the assessment of 325 individuals at 15 different companies across the United States. Over 187 criteria related to work practices, equipment use, environmental factors, employee comfort and ergonomics risks were measured. Participants attending this session will explore what work methods impact comfort the most, and what measures are being used to reduce injury risk. During this informative session, attendees will analyze the results of this ergonomics investigation and receive up-to-date information to assess their own office ergonomics criteria including: common adjustability features in seating, common ergonomics accessories in use, environmental variations in the office, and reports of aches, pains and discomfort among office workers. You will leave this session with the ability to:
- Identify the variables in the office work area that affect user comfort and ergonomic risks
- Relate those factors to the design of chairs, workstations and accessories
- Identify opportunities for new products, features and improved ergonomic design
